01

The brief

A convincing store must preserve price authority and stock integrity when customers repeat requests or availability changes.

02

The approach

The browser keeps the cart; the server determines the price. Orders and inventory changes commit together. A repeated request returns the existing order, while a changed cart cannot reuse its key.

03

What you can verify

  1. Add products and adjust quantities in the persistent cart.
  2. Review authoritative totals and the delivery estimate.
  3. Place an order and observe the reserved inventory.
  4. Cancel the order and verify the stock returns once.
  5. Inspect tests for duplicate submissions, price tampering and insufficient stock.
04

Implementation & handoff

A live collection, cart, quote API, order history and cancellation flow. SQL constraints stop negative inventory; tests verify rollback, repeated submissions and stock release.

05

Honest context

Fictional products, generated concept imagery and synthetic stock. No payment gateway, real shipping, address collection or fulfilment service. Commerce data is private to the sample workspace owner.
